The Department of Planning and Development’s Citizens Planning Institute is in search of a Fall 2026 Intern. This intern will work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week, in person. The intern’s duties may include, but may not be limited to the following: § Interview alumni and draft Citizen Planner in Action stories for the CPI website § Develop quarterly CPI newsletter and alumni newsletter § Assist with Fall course development and logistics § Create promotional videos for the program and the CPI in a Box resource § Assist with alumni group programming § Assist with Comprehensive Plan –Phila2050-- engagement tactics and data analysis Essential Functions The essential functions for this internship may include: communications; writing, interviewing, comfort with emailing and calling members of the public. The position would suit an enthusiastic detail-oriented student interested in community planning and citizen advocacy issues with good communication skills. Basic MS Office proficiency required. GIS skills are preferred but not required. Skills in the following a plus but not required: Constant contact, Wordpress, Videography.
