About The Position

The Circuit Board Through Hole Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of the wave and selective solder machines and the quality of the completed products. This role involves pulling and setting up components for manual insertion into circuit boards, verifying correct job and board revisions, operating solder machines, and performing detailed inspections of inserted components. The operator is also responsible for changeovers, ensuring first board runs meet quality requirements, and has the authority to address quality or safety issues. The position requires working well with others, maintaining a positive attitude, and having strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use a computer and familiar with Microsoft Outlook (Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and part prints
  • Ability to enter production information using Epicor MES
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one discussion with supervisor and co-workers
  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide multi-digit numbers
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Regularly required to stand or sit
  • Use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Pull and set up components for manual insertion into circuit boards
  • Verify correct job and board revisions with physical boards, paperwork, and machine programs
  • Operate, load, and unload a wave and selective solder machine
  • Perform detailed inspection of inserted components
  • Perform changeovers, which includes selecting the correct program to run on the wave or selective solder machine and placing or changing component bins in the required location
  • Verify that first board runs, after a new setup, meet quality requirements
  • Has the responsibility and authority to bring attention to a problem that would compromise the quality of parts or the safety of employees
