About The Position

Deluxe Media Inc., a subsidiary of Platinum Equity, is a leading provider of entertainment industry services and technologies, offering comprehensive film and digital solutions. Deluxe operates globally, serving major studios and independent theatrical releases, broadcast, home entertainment, and archiving. The Cinema Projection Systems Engineer role is within the Deluxe Cinema business unit, which focuses on mastering and distributing digital content to theaters. This includes services like digital cinema mastering, subtitling, format validation, and content transcoding. The group also manages digital cinema assets and provides delivery support functions such as asset tracking, network management, key management, and exhibitor support. The goal of this group is to advance technology in theatrical content mastering and delivery to meet evolving client needs. The Cinema Projection Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, buildout, calibration, maintenance, and support of Quality Control (QC) systems, with a primary focus on projection, audio, and auxiliary systems for the QC department. This role involves managing operational workflows, procedures, and schedules, and developing a deep understanding of current and new presentation and QC systems. There may also be responsibilities in architecting, installing, and maintaining mastering suites and other audio/video mastering systems.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering, computer science or another technical field OR 2 Years Projection, System Engineering, or System Administration experience
  • Excellent Problem Solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well with others
  • A "can-do" attitude, with the ability to energize and work with multi-functional teams is required
  • Must be able to work independently in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills, information, and technologies

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate projection and audio systems
  • Configure, upgrade, and maintain projection, audio, and auxiliary QC systems
  • Provide recommendations for system, application, and operational process and schedule changes
  • Research, evaluate, install, configure, and assist in the development of new QC tools
  • Technically document all research, testing, setup/configuration and assist with end user training
  • Provide technical support for QC on projection, audio, and auxiliary QC systems
  • Work closely with operations, project management, application development and support, security, and other engineering teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal teams for QC and theatrical presentation systems and processes
