Anchor Glass in an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Summary Process Engineer Intern position will work on projects and initiatives under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Staff. As part of the team, the intern will develop an understanding for the manufacturing processes and develop methods, tools, and documentation to support lean manufacturing and improve the overall product flow. Interns will support engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have assignments that support projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Attending a four-year college to obtain or has obtained a BS in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical or Ceramic or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to provide support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide suggestions to improve the glass manufacturing process through statistical based analysis.
  • Assist to interpret statistical process control data, collection and analysis.
  • Analyze the data for trends and root cause, and provide appropriate follow up.
  • Perform designed experiments to determine actions needed for improved process capabilities.
  • Assist to develop and implement projects to improve the manufacturing process
  • Suggest design changes to equipment or processes to achieve improved efficiencies.
  • Review and suggest revisions or initiate Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in the planning, management and supervision for equipment installation and rebuild projects.
  • Work in conjunction with plant manufacturing to maintain production, quality and safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
