About The Position

Join Our Team as a Continuous Improvement Process Engineer at Johnson Electric! As our next Continuous Improvement Process Engineer, you’ll be supporting all aspects of JE manufacturing, with the primary focus on improving existing products and manufacturing processes. Your primary goals will include developing standardized manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency through industrial engineering principles, leading cost reduction initiatives, and managing continuous improvement projects. You will partner closely with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the facility.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience with process improvement, line balancing, time studies, and workflow optimization.
• Experience in developing, training, implementing OEE.
• Experience designing manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and assembly aids.
• Experience managing multiple continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Experience performing manufacturing data analysis using Microsoft Excel or similar software.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Self-starter with leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certifications.
• Experience with value stream mapping, takt time analysis, and capacity planning.
• Experience supporting automated or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Experience leading Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain standardized manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Perform time studies, labor analysis, and line balancing to optimize production efficiency.
• Identify and implement productivity improvements that reduce scrap, improve throughput, and increase capacity.
• Design and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Lead cost savings initiatives from concept through implementation, including project planning, execution, and validation.
• Maintain and report cost savings metrics, project status, and continuous improvement performance to leadership.
• Support capital equipment justification by developing cost-benefit analyses and return-on-investment (ROI) calculations.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 6S, standardized work, visual management, continuous flow improvements and KPI Metrics (OEE, Scrap, Downtime, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements while minimizing disruption to production.
• Support production with troubleshooting of manufacturing process issues and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
• Develop manufacturing layouts and material flow improvements to maximize operational efficiency.
