About The Position

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a CI Engineer to lead the development and deployment of a business process improvement strategy, with a focus on Kitting manufacturing. This role is responsible for building a culture of waste elimination by analyzing business processes, developing and executing action plans to achieve optimal future state, enhance customer experience, reduce costs, and streamline activities. The CI Engineer will manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with proven problem-solving and change management experience, capable of facilitating process improvement across various transactional processes including operations, IT, supply planning, marketing, finance, and sales. This position requires influencing and motivating project teams across multiple departments and locations with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent years of directly related experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement roles
  • 2+ years of experience with proven operations process improvements (Manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Previous Facilitator and Coaching experiences where problem-solving, process development and/or behavior change methods and tools have been used
  • Verbal and written communication skills across functional audiences with different backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping - Kaizen
  • Proficiency in Change Management Methodologies
  • Basic IT awareness and proficiency in systematic relationships between various Software (ERP, WMS, Service Now, PIM, Sales force, etc)
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Advanced Data analysis skills in MS Excel, Minitab, Pareto, Control charts, Microsoft Project, PowerBI, PowerPivot, and/or VBA

Responsibilities

  • Maintain time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Lead strategic Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and quick hit projects from definition through execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources for events and communicate results throughout the business.
  • Develop and execute project plans using project management skills.
  • Develop project charters, project plans, and project governance documents.
  • Track project progress and drive accountability for team tasks.
  • Escalate key project hurdles and road blocks when needed.
  • Schedule, develop agendas for, and facilitate project meetings, documenting discussions and action items.
  • Track project schedules and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with IT for alignment on prioritization and provide what-if scenarios.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT and Finance to understand organizational effort and financial impacts.
  • Establish appropriate metrics and report on progress, achievements, and results, including executive-level reporting.
  • Ensure changes are fully integrated through follow-up communication and consistency.
  • Select and execute appropriate lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Kanban, Visual Management, Pull systems, DMAIC, PFMEA, Root cause, 8D, and 5-Why Analysis).
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and other departments to develop and deliver training.
  • Build the skills of functional leaders and associates through hands-on interactions and personal mentoring in lean management tools.
  • Maintain project roadmap, including status updates, CI/5S activity, and monthly ops review slides.
  • Facilitate CI Activity Suggestion program and plantwide 6S scoring.
