About The Position

SAIC is seeking a CI/CD Pipeline Developer with strong technical depth in automation and pipeline engineering. The role focuses on architecting, developing, and optimizing GitLab-centric CI/CD workflows; collaborating with development, testing, and infrastructure teams; and improving automation, developer experience, and environment consistency. The position also supports containerization and orchestration strategies and requires documentation of pipeline architecture, configurations, and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience using GitLab for CI/CD pipeline creation, orchestration, and automation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of Git workflows and modern branching strategies.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications or working directly with Java development teams.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to scalable and secure software delivery.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, with an emphasis on GitLab-centric workflows.
• Collaborate with Java developers, C++ developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to streamline code integration and delivery.
• Implement branching strategies, merge processes, and version control standards using Git and GitLab.
• Improve developer experience through automation, pipeline refinement, and environment consistency.
• Support containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Maintain detailed documentation of pipeline architecture, configurations, and process workflows.
