About The Position
The Chute Loader is part of the Mill Services Operations Team and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of the chute loader within the steel mill. This role is responsible for keeping the chute loaded with required material as directed by the Scrap Yard pulpit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to work in a Steel Mill
- Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements.
- Strong commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to learn safe operation of skid steer
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the chute to ensure proper performance
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and company environmental health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with steelmaking teams to support production schedules while maintaining environmental standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around the baghouse and associated equipment.
- Operation of skid steer to unload skids from trailer and transport to designed area.
- Transport other materials as needed within Steel Mill with use of skid steer.
- Daily Pre and Post Shift inspection of skid steer
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operation.
