About The Position

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology is seeking a Choreographer for a musical production. This role involves identifying choreography responsibilities, collaborating with the director and production team, attending auditions and callbacks, creating and running dance rehearsals, and working with various departments on aspects like costumes, set design, and music.

The choreographer will also be responsible for communicating needs to the production team, attending technical rehearsals and performances, and assisting with outside events. This is a part-time, as-needed position with a salary of $2000.00.

Responsibilities

• Identify numbers in show that are the choreographers' responsibility
• Identify numbers that will be worked on collaboratively with Director
• Attend Auditions
• Create Audition Routine
• Run Dance Call During Auditions
• Create Callback Routine (if necessary)
• Run Dance Callback
• Attend Callbacks
• Collaborate on Casting Decisions
• Create Rehearsal Schedule with Rehearsal Production Team
• Attend Read-Thru
• Plan, Attend & Run Dance Rehearsals
• Communicate Needs to Production Team based on Rehearsals
• Attend Act 1 and 2 Stumble Thrus, Run Thrus Designer Run
• Collaborate with Costumer on Shoe Needs for Students
• Help with Light Design
• Space and Adjust Choreography based on Set Design
• Ensure Numbers are Visible to Cast on Stage for Spacing
• Attend Tech Week
• Attend Sitz Probe
• Collaborate on Tempos & Cuts with Music Director
• Attend & Help Organize Outside Events/Awards Ceremonies
• Attend Production Meetings
• Send Notes to Cast
• Take Notes on Videos
• Attend Shows & Clean Before Shows
• Collaborate with Production Team
