The location in Port Melon, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Chip plant clean up. This job is full-time temporary.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a chip plant and operating equipment for the plant
- Mechanical aptitude
- Physically fit
- Work in dusty environments
- Ability to operate equipment and tools such as Bob Cat Skid Steer, Ditch Witch, Hand Tools, Come-Along, Line Winch, Air Wands, and Chain Saws
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Completion of pre-employment screening processes, reference check, prior work verification.
- Ability to make it to and from work on a daily basis
- Positive work ethic
- Ability to work and communicate successfully in a team environment, with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to various work assignments and changing conditions is essential.
- Must be able to recognize issues with equipment and follow through with reporting and ensuring repairs have been completed.
- Responsible individuals, with a commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Nice To Haves
- Having a high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
- First Aid Certified is an asset
- Valid driver’s license is highly preferred.
- Valid first aid level 3 certificate or willingness to be put through the course will be given priority in hiring process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-job equipment inspection
- Do all aspects of job safely.
- Use chainsaw
- Assist other workers in area
- Clean all areas of the Chip Plant
- Perform Fire Watch as required during and following Hot Work
- All other duties requested by management.
