We boldly go. Where is the work: Field-based: Work is conducted on-site at customer locations. What's in it for you: As a Commercial HVAC/Chiller Technician, you will be primarily responsible for repairing HVAC equipment in the Ventura/Oxnard areas. You will use your knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and understanding schematics. In this position you will establish & maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills via phone, computer, and face to face. You will be responsible for evaluating, servicing and repairing 50 ton DX units and 50 to 1000 ton chillers. Additionally responsible for their scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers. Responsible for testing chillers on our onsite test stand, point to point testing, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned chillers or HVAC equipment.

Requirements

  • Chiller experience is a must.
  • Proficient ability to perform repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance of Screw, scroll, reciprocating and centrifugal chillers.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.
  • Typically requires at least 10 plus years of experience in HVAC.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • EPA Certification, Required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing HVAC equipment in the Ventura/Oxnard areas.
  • Evaluating, servicing and repairing 50 ton DX units and 50 to 1000 ton chillers.
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems.
  • Testing chillers on our onsite test stand, point to point testing, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned chillers or HVAC equipment.
  • Performing repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance of Screw, scroll, reciprocating and centrifugal chillers.
  • Performing end to end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.
  • Representing the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer’s location.
  • Coordinating with team leader/project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Using cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
  • Continually enforcing safety to the highest standards and maintaining security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
  • Mentoring team members.
  • Displaying team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
