IREN is a leading AI Cloud Service Provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s vertically integrated platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and data centers in renewable-rich regions across the U.S. and Canada. The Chiller Technician II independently operates and maintains the central utility plant (CUP) at IREN’s liquid-cooled hyperscale campuses in West Texas and Oklahoma. Working on shift as part of the mechanical team, this role keeps running the plant that removes heat from some of the densest AI compute in North America – centrifugal and screw chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, coolant distribution units and the direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops that serve the racks themselves. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role for an experienced technician ready for full ownership of mission-critical central utility plant operations. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations and working alongside Chiller Technician IIIs and the Chiller Specialist, the successful candidate will operate with a good degree of independence, provide on-shift guidance to Chiller Technician Is, and follow a clear progression path toward Chiller Technician III and Chiller Specialist as the portfolio grows. With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
