About The Position

Chill/Freeze Stockers stock and straighten merchandise as well as rotate and monitor perishable products on the floor and in back stock. This role includes ensuring product is fresh and not beyond expiration date, following company markdown guidelines, clearing and cleaning aisles, customer service, cart retrieval and storage and unloading and loading trucks.

Requirements

  • Ability to ensure safe retrieval of merchandise and keep people out of fall-danger zone.
  • Ability to use box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet.
  • Ability to wrap or tie and tag pallets to be returned to steel.
  • Ability to stock opened cases on shelves.
  • Ability to move and position pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack.
  • Ability to stack product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
  • Ability to mark product number on unmarked items using marking gun.
  • Ability to observe and ensure correct product signage.
  • Ability to set up display models, assembling as necessary.
  • Ability to modify displays for safe handling by customers, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges.
  • Ability to follow all safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to pull loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor.
  • Ability to operate cardboard baler and trash compactor.
  • Ability to rewrap loose product using shrink-wrap.
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to help customers to load large items into their cart, direct customers to products, and relate product knowledge.
  • Ability to assist customers in getting product to their vehicle and loading product into vehicle.
  • Ability to retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to their staging area.
  • Ability to load and unload freight trucks using forklift and or pallet jack, staging product pallets in assigned areas.
  • Ability to assist with front end duties as necessary.
  • Ability to assist in other departments of the store as necessary.
  • Ability to operate manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife.
  • Ability to occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
  • Ability to speak and receive phone communications often.
  • Ability to use computer with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment.
  • Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders.
  • Frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist.
  • Frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds at waist/chest.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
