About The Position

LCMHA is seeking a dedicated Children's Therapist to join our Children's Services Team in Adrian, Michigan. LCMHA (Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority) provides or manages a full array of services to adults and children with mental health and/or emotional disturbances, persons with substance use disorders, and persons with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to create a path to resilience, recovery, wellness, and self-determination for these individuals. A therapist on the Children's Services Team provides treatment to children and their families using evidence-based practices. Treatment is delivered on site or in the family home. The therapist assists the family in developing an Individual Plan of Service. The therapist provides clinical information to the psychiatrist, case management staff, emergency services staff, and other treatment team members. The therapist also assists in the development of parent and family education programs, and assists the Children's Services Team in community education activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • Licensed / certified by the State of Michigan in social work, psychology, guidance and counseling, or other related behavioral health field.
  • At least two-year's experience in assessment and treatment of children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive assessments for children referred for intensive services.
  • Develop a Person-Centered Plan of Service.
  • Develop a safety/wellness plan for the child and family.
  • Provide treatment at intervals specified in the Individual Plan of Service.
  • Complete treatment reviews as specified in the Individual Plan of Service.
  • Provide information and consultation to treatment team.
  • Assist in parent education.
