About The Position

The Nature Program Facilitator supports and delivers high‑quality outdoor learning experiences for children ages 5–12. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, organized, and enthusiastic about fostering children’s curiosity through nature-based exploration. Facilitators will lead daily activities for summer camps and other outdoor programs, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience working with children
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • This position requires a valid driver's license.
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., education, environmental sciences, outdoor recreation)
  • Knowledge of local plants, animals, and basic ecological principles
  • At least three years of experience working with children
  • Experience facilitating outdoor, nature-based, or camp-style programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support daily activities for children participating in nature programs and summer camps.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experience for children in outdoor settings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.
  • Reset[RF2.1] and prepare program spaces daily.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies used during activities.
  • Identify and report needed repairs or supply replenishments to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to plan and implement nature‑based curriculum and daily activity schedules.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of diverse groups of children.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance program quality and support child-led exploration.
