About The Position

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is seeking a strategic and community-minded leader for the position of Children’s Outreach Specialist. The successful candidate will have exceptionally strong leadership and communication skills, organizational abilities, and community relations skills. This is a rapidly changing role, and we are looking for a forward thinker who can help shape its future. As the Children’s Outreach Specialist, you'll be responsible for providing and coordinating age-specific outreach efforts across Muscogee County, working to improve early childhood literacy and to create young library users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in job-related area.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License required.
  • Upload a copy of your high school diploma/transcripts or college diploma/transcripts to submit an application.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters' Degree in job-related area preferred.
  • Knowledge of spoken Spanish desired.
  • A combination of work experience and education may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and develop partnerships with a variety of child-focused community organizations
  • Provide, coordinate, and organize children's outreach programs for ages 0-5 in Muscogee County
  • Develop and evaluate community-based outreach programs
  • Communicate effectively regarding children's literacy issues with caregivers, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
  • Provide regular communication, training, and resources to branch staff to assist them in system-wide children's outreach
  • Supervise and evaluate Children's Outreach Department staff
