About The Position
The Allen County Public Library is seeking a Part-Time Children's Librarian to join their team at the Main Library downtown. This role involves planning and leading engaging programs and storytimes, assisting children and caregivers with library materials and services, supporting outreach efforts and tours, and helping patrons navigate technology and online resources. The position aims to create a welcoming, inclusive space that encourages curiosity and fosters a love of stories, creativity, and learning for young patrons and their families. The librarian will work with a collaborative team that values literacy, learning, and community connection.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least two (2) years of library operations experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)
- Ability to obtain Indiana Public Librarian Certification LC5 within three (3) years of hire
- Valid driver's license (for outreach activities)
- Strong communication skills
- Genuine enjoyment of working with children and families
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new tools
