About The Position

The Children's Justice Program Coordinator will provide intervention and prevention services to Native American children within the Kaw Nation service area. This role involves representing the Kaw Nation Children Services, developing strategic plans, and collaborating with various tribal, state, and service provider agencies. The coordinator will focus on the criminal investigation and prosecution of child abuse and neglect cases, provide advocacy and case management services to child victims and their families, and ensure adherence to the Children's Justice Act program grant requirements.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Children/Juvenile Justice, or closely related field
  • One or more years of work experience in the field of juvenile services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention and prevention services to Native American children in the Kaw Nation service area.
  • Represent the Kaw Nation Children Services in our tribal jurisdiction and attend area health fairs and children’s justice events and trainings.
  • Organize, prepare, and develop strategic plan and logic model with the assistance of TTA provider.
  • Work closely with tribal police, tribal court, Oklahoma Children’s Authority, state courts, and other service providers to implement prevention and intervention strategies and services with a focus on criminal investigation and prosecution of child abuse and neglect cases.
  • Provide advocacy assistance through direct services, court hearings, and other programmatic related meetings and events to support program services.
  • Provide and strengthen trauma-informed practices related to children experiencing child abuse, neglect and sexual assault and their non-offending family members.
  • Provide case management services to child victims and their families, including home-based and referral services.
  • Maintain the goals and objectives as identified in the Children’s Justice Act program Grant, and work with Grants & Contracts Department to complete timely reporting activities and grant deliverables.
  • Perform and other grant related duties as required by immediate supervisor.
