About The Position

At Resources for Human Development (RHD), we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their circumstances. We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Children's Education Coordinator to support children and youth residing at the Woodstock Family Center, an emergency housing program serving families experiencing homelessness. In this role, you'll help children build positive relationships, heal from trauma, remain connected to educational opportunities, and experience the joy and stability every child deserves. This is a unique opportunity for an education professional who is passionate about child development, advocacy, family engagement, and creating meaningful outcomes for vulnerable children and families. Woodstock Family Center (WFC) provides emergency housing and supportive services to families with children who are working toward permanent housing. While in the program, families focus on housing stability, employment, health, community involvement, and educational success. The primary goal is to help families secure permanent housing while ensuring children continue to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The Children's Education Coordinator is a key member of the leadership team and plays an essential role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children and youth throughout their stay.

Responsibilities

Conduct needs-based assessments and service planning for children and youth.
Support children's safety, well-being, health, school attendance, and developmental needs.
Coordinate services and connect children and families to community resources and external programs.
Serve as a liaison between families, schools, treatment providers, and case managers.
Assist children and families in achieving educational and therapeutic goals.
Develop and implement engaging daily activities for children.
Monitor children's educational progress and learning environments.
Supervise school attendance, academic performance, and recognition activities.
Ensure compliance with the McKinney-Vento Reauthorization Act and educational advocacy requirements.
Assist with implementation of trauma-informed programming and Bright Horizons funding requirements.
Develop and coordinate a high-quality summer camp focused on cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Participate in collaborative community efforts supporting homeless children and families.
Prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence as required.
Collaborate closely with the program leadership team.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
