About The Position

Northwest Bible Church is seeking a Part-Time Childcare Teacher to work with preschool children ages birth - 5. This role is needed on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with occasional Friday mornings for MomCo and special events. The teacher will provide prompt and professional care, attending to the physical, emotional, and social needs of the children. Responsibilities include basic caregiving such as diaper changing, assisting with snacks and toileting, maintaining a positive and nurturing environment, leading routines, guiding behavior and safety, and performing housekeeping duties like cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord and agree with the doctrinal statement of Northwest Bible Church.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Have a joyful passion for teaching children and genuine interest in caring for them.
• Minimum of one year experience teaching and caring for children.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a teaching partner and team.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules, respond to individual needs, calmly handle unexpected situations, and balance structure with flexibility.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maneuver large strollers and buggies without assistance.
• Must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the role, which may include frequent bending, sitting, standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying children or supplies, and moving quickly in response to children's needs or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and professional care for children ages birth – 5 years old.
• Attend to children's physical, emotional and social needs, per the developmental level of the child.
• Provide basic care-giving needs including, but not limited to, diaper changing, assisting with snacks, helping with toileting, etc.
• Maintain a positive, loving, and nurturing environment for children.
• Assist with leading, organizing and directing the children through each routine activity.
• Guide children in age-appropriate ways regarding behavior and safety; Recommend or initiate measures to modify behavior as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties in classroom, such as cleaning and sanitizing toys, cribs, swings, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
