About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at William E Cottle School in Eastchester, NY. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and engaging environment, and communicating with parents. Specific responsibilities include following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, group activities, homework assistance), maintaining a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment, acting as a positive role model, reporting to work on time and staying until the last child leaves, communicating with parents via the Playground App, and adhering to state and program policies. Some positions may also involve management functions like attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework assistance.
• Providing a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Reporting to the program ready to work at designated times and be prepared to stay until the last child leaves the program.
• Communicating daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
• Observing and following state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
