About The Position

Kinley Ames is seeking passionate and dependable childcare professionals to join our Oklahoma substitute team. We are currently accepting applicants for multiple substitute roles including Childcare Teachers, CDA Certified Teachers, Lead/Master Teachers, Assistant Directors, and Directors who are committed to supporting early childhood education programs. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and want the flexibility of substitute work while making a meaningful impact in childcare facilities that need reliable staffing support. Our substitutes step in when centers are short staffed, helping ensure programs remain compliant with staff-to-child ratios while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. Responsibilities may include: Supervising and caring for children in a classroom setting while ensuring their safety and well-being. Implementing or assisting with age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, and social development. Supporting classroom operations including lesson implementation, classroom management, and daily routines. Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment. Communicating with parents, guardians, and center staff regarding children’s progress, needs, or concerns when appropriate. Following all state childcare licensing regulations and Kinley Ames policies related to health, safety, and education standards. Assisting with administrative or leadership duties when serving in higher-level roles such as Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, or Director. Participating in training, onboarding, and professional development opportunities when required. Kinley Ames substitutes arrive ready to work and support childcare programs by providing reliable coverage for a variety of roles within early learning environments.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks in accordance with Oklahoma childcare licensing regulations.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED (higher qualifications may be required for certain roles such as Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, or Director).
  • Must have or be willing to obtain required Oklahoma childcare training and documentation, including safe sleep training, CPR/First Aid certification, and other state-required courses when applicable.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work professionally with children, staff, and parents in a childcare environment.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to adapt quickly when stepping into different childcare programs.
  • Must be able to follow childcare licensing rules, classroom procedures, and facility policies.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to childcare facilities within the service area.

Nice To Haves

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification
  • Early Childhood Education coursework or degree
  • Previous childcare classroom experience
  • Experience serving as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, or Childcare Director
