About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs in Newton, NJ for the 2025–2026 school year. This role involves making a difference before and after the school bell rings, creating a safe and fun environment where children can grow and thrive. The position is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The team is responsible for facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and healthy environment, and acting as a positive role model. Certain positions may also perform management functions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues.
• Consistent record of reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
