About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at Stafford Elementary School in Stafford Springs, CT. The program serves school-age children (ages 5–12) and focuses on facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and positive environment, and assisting with homework. Staff are expected to be reliable, communicate with parents, and adhere to state and program policies. Some positions may involve management functions like record-keeping and registration.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB
• Warm, friendly, and upbeat demeanor
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework assistance.
• Providing a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Reporting to the program ready to work at designated times and be prepared to stay until the last child leaves the program.
• Communicating daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
• Observing and following state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
