About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking an energetic, passionate, and dedicated After School Site Director to lead and inspire children during engaging, enriching after-school hours. This dynamic role involves creating engaging experiences filled with fun, growth, and connection, while inspiring children and building meaningful relationships. The position is with a collaborative, award-winning team where you can make a lasting impact in every season. The role is located at Fletcher Elementary School in Cambridge, VT, with hours from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It is a part-time, non-exempt position with a pay rate of $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18
• An Associate’s degree or higher
• At least ten months of direct work experience with school-age children OR Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate OR Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential OR Vermont Program Director Credential OR Vermont Teacher Licensure OR Master’s degree in a youth-related field
• Demonstrated ability to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that engages and supports children, families, and staff
• Strong leadership skills, including experience supervising, training, and mentoring staff to implement high-quality programming
• Proven ability to plan and lead engaging daily activities, hands-on projects, games, arts & crafts, and themed events
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, state guidelines, and best practices in youth supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience interacting with families and supporting parent engagement
• Ability to support community outreach initiatives to promote programs and engage prospective families
• Maintains professionalism, reliability, and punctuality, while modeling enthusiasm, positivity, and a can-do attitude
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily after-school activities, enrichment projects, homework support, and special themed events, including arts & crafts and hands-on learning experiences
• Create a positive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, supported, and engaged after the school day
• Supervise, train, and support after-school staff, including implementing curriculum and enrichment activities to ensure high-quality program delivery
• Ensure student safety and maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school guidelines
• Communicate regularly with families using the Playground App and provide support during parent orientations and program events
• Support community outreach efforts to promote the program and engage prospective families
• Lead by example with enthusiasm, professionalism, positivity, and a solution-focused attitude
