About The Position

The Pursuit Church offers an elementary school, early childhood care, and church staff care at its location in Kirkland, WA, and is a part of the Pursuit NW ministry. Our education and care is faith-based and we desire to serve the children of our community with our hearts and passion for Kingdom-led education. The Pursuit School exists to raise Kingdom changers accomplished through quality education of mind, body, and spirit. Our goal is to nurture and train children so that they will grow in godliness of character and action. We believe that children are a gift from God to be nurtured and trained so that they may grow strong in character.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for periods of time.
  • Availability and flexibility to work between the hours of 8:15 am - 5:30 pm.
  • Must complete MinistrySafe Child Abuse training.
  • Be able to pass both local and federal background checks and all policies required for volunteering at PURSUIT.
  • Be committed to the local church and loyal to its senior leadership.
  • Model a passionate pursuit of the presence of God.
  • Be able to pass both local and federal background checks.
  • Follow all PURSUIT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead care provider with babies, toddlers, and children in a richly interactive, learning environment.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order through indirect guidance principles.
  • Observe and evaluate behavior, social/spiritual development, and physical health.
  • Perform positive behavior support and management.
  • Provide personal care or assist with necessary self-help requirements in areas such as toileting.
  • Know and follow health, safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Work cooperatively and communicate successfully with staff and parents.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the education of all children.
  • Observe strict confidentiality regarding children and personnel information.
  • Adapt to a variety of working situations and learn new skills.
  • Promote and practice professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through conduct, punctuality, and thorough recordkeeping.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.
