About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at Quinton Township Elementary School in Quinton, NJ. The program serves school-age children (ages 5–12) and operates from 6:45 - 8:30 am and 2:45 - 5:45 pm. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and engaging environment, communicating with parents, and adhering to program and school policies. Some positions may include management functions like record-keeping and registration.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate.
  • Six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and Nine college credits in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to child growth or development.
  • Medical clearance to perform all job duties and are free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
  • A warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members.
  • Professional, dependable, and punctual.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Communicating daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
  • Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (for certain positions).
