About The Position

We are seeking a Childcare Cook to join our New Horizon Academy team at our beautiful Dubuque school! This role is essential in providing nutritious meals for the children in our care, contributing to their overall well-being and development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a child-centered environment and have a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Requirements

• Must be able to work full-time, Monday-Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Must possess a positive work ethic and a team-centered attitude.
• Must be comfortable working with food allergies/restrictions.
• Must enjoy working in a child-centered environment.
• Must be willing to learn.
• Must meet or exceed state qualifications for the listed position.
• Must meet position qualification requirements as outlined by the state department guidelines.
• Must be able to satisfy the Applicant Background Study required by state regulations.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must have the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff, as well as to understand state licensing regulations and company policies.

Nice To Haves

• Previous kitchen experience preferred.
• Previous experience in Early Childhood Education or related field of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for children, considering food allergies and restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Adhere to all state and company guidelines for food preparation and safety.
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding meal plans and dietary needs.
