About The Position

Carmelite Child Development Center, located in Kirkwood, MO, is seeking a full-time Childcare Center Steward (Housekeeper) to create clean, welcoming spaces where children can learn, play, and thrive. This role is within a peaceful, loving, family-oriented environment, caring for both residents and staff. The position involves performing housekeeping and light laundry activities to ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and children, while complying with OSHA Standards and Regulations.

Requirements

Housekeeping experience preferred
Able to safely prepare, use, and store -- under direction -- cleaning solutions
Good observation skills
Common sense judgment
Must successfully pass the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) criminal background check.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the US.
Must have valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).

Responsibilities

Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas.
Performs light laundry activities ensuring laundry is cleaned and folded.
Makes a clean and safe environment for staff and children.
Consistently demonstrates a positive approach to assignments and demonstrates positive interaction with others.
Complies with OSHA Standards and Regulations.
