Childcare Assistant – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Program at Penn-Bernville Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, observing state and school policies, and supporting program operations. The position is part-time, following the school calendar, with opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both programs. This role is ideal for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
