About The Position
The Growing Years of Apex is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to work with infants and preschoolers. The role involves assisting the lead teacher with classroom activities, fostering child development, maintaining a safe environment, and establishing rapport with families. The center is a family-oriented, close-knit organization that values diversity and inclusivity.
Requirements
- High school diploma OR GED
- Ability to pass all background checks
- Completion of EDU 119 or college level early childhood education coursework
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare experience working directly with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
- Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
- Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
- Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
