About The Position
The Child Development Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, promoting social and emotional development, and ensuring the overall well-being of each child.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, etc.)
- Must be able to pass background check and meet state licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Early childhood education coursework preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and lesson implementation
- Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Engage children in play-based learning activities
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with staff and families
- Assist with feeding, diapering, and personal care as needed
