About The Position

This position is for a Child Welfare Supervisor in the Lincoln Parish Child Welfare department in Ruston, LA. The incumbent in this position supervises a team of CPI and Family Services employees. Requirements

  • Six years of experience in child welfare; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in child welfare; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in child welfare; OR An advanced degree in a social science or behavioral health field, nursing, or a juris doctorate plus two years of experience in child welfare.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A current driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15.587.1 (c).

Nice To Haves

  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for program operations and functions to process cases, coordinate and monitor workflow, guide employees in assessment of services and placement needs
  • Monitor work productivity, assign CPS cases, pre-investigate staffing, and administrative needs
  • Ensure CPS deadlines are met according to policy
  • Provide supervisory conferences, case consultations, team case staffing, review of work assignments, ensure compliance with laws and policies
  • Supervisory work planning, goal setting and performance evaluations, provide on-going training and professional development to staff
  • Serves as a liaison to the community, other agencies, groups and resources
  • Participates in recruitment and selection of hiring new staff
