Child Welfare Specialist IV - Permanency Planning
About The Position
The Child Welfare Specialist IV serves as a lead worker and mentor to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists within Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, and Permanency Planning. The specialist may also serve as a backup supervisor. The position is located in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and involves extensive travel. Hours may include on-call work, extended hours, and/or weekends. On-call positions receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities. The annual salary is $52,217.89, with full state employee benefits. Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Social Work are entitled to an additional 5% salary incentive.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs; or a bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist; or three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain required car insurance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists within Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, and Permanency Planning.
- May serve as a backup supervisor.
- Lead staff meetings, provide ongoing case consultation, and advise and train lower-level Child Welfare Specialists in case management and interpretation of policies and procedures.
- May assist with coordination efforts for the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC).
- Carry complex and difficult caseloads and/or handle responsibilities involving case consultation.
- Monitor investigations and individualized service plans and review court reports.
