Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), a leading not-for-profit organization, is seeking a motivated intern to support its Child Welfare program. This is an unpaid internship opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in child welfare services. The internship requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters, with mandatory training in June, July, and August. Interns will participate in group supervision, bi-weekly team meetings, and agency trainings, and must be available to work one evening per week. While agency cars are available, personal car use may be necessary, requiring proof of current car insurance. Interns will be trained to supervise parent/child visits, intervene when necessary, and conduct in-home family visits. Successful completion of a criminal and CANTS (DCFS) background check is required.
