Requirements

  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university; OR 3 years of experience related to child welfare work; OR a combination of education and experience. (Level I)
  • A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify; OR One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist. (Level II)
  • A Master's degree; OR a Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist; OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist. (Level III)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
  • All New Employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Position serves with Post Adoption Outreach following up with Post Adoptive families.
  • Advises of available services and resources; provides specific program information and refers to community resources and/or a Clinical Social Worker for assistance.
  • Carries a partial caseload of post adoptive cases and conducts annual renewals, process DOC requests and renewals, and provide support and referral assistance to families.
  • Assist clinical social workers during parent coaching sessions conducted in the home with families.
  • Conducts both adolescent and virtual parent support groups.
  • Conducts ongoing virtual webinars (lunch & learns and other types) at least once per month.
  • Develops presentations or facilitate with other speakers across disciplines and create informational flyers to disseminate across the state.
  • Manage and update content for the Post Adoption Services website to include the creation of new content and newsletter page.
