The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Welfare Services Technician 1. This position is located in Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED AND One (1) year of job-related experience in a social services related position.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a child welfare related field.

Responsibilities

  • Completes intakes based on interviews with client, family or reporter.
  • Maintains contact with other social service agencies, health care providers, etc. involved with clients to provide information an obtain updates on client’s progress.
  • Conducts screenings and/or searches for case history, relatives, etc.
  • Assists clients in locating and utilizing community resources, such as legal, medical, financial assistance, etc.
  • Organizes records, uploads data & documents into records, pulls reports, compiles data, etc.
