About The Position

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking a Child Welfare Manager 1 with a focus on Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) for East Baton Rouge Parish. This role is crucial in upholding the department's mission to protect children, empower families, and strengthen communities. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliant and effective service delivery by developing goals, objectives, and strategies, aligning with state and federal expectations. This position leads efforts to continuously improve child safety and well-being through rigorous data assessment, review processes, and the study of best practices. Requirements

Seven years of experience in child welfare; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in child welfare; OR A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in child welfare; OR An advanced degree in a social science or behavioral health field, nursing, or a juris doctorate plus three years of experience in child welfare.
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
A current driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
Must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15.587.1 (c).

Responsibilities

Provides administrative oversight and management for statewide CQI activities.
Directs the activities of the CQI program through the supervision of Child Welfare Supervisors responsible for case reviews.
Oversees the case review process and monitors supervisory activities to ensure work productivity.
Serves as the primary liaison with federal partners engaged in the CQI process.
Partners with regional and parish leadership to implement and revise solutions to practice challenges.
Supports agency commitments to strengthen practice, improve timeliness, and ensure consistent implementation of policy across the state.
Provides supervision and guidance to staff under their purview.
Leads regular meetings and conference calls with staff and stakeholders.
Exercises management and supervision of positions responsible for CQI activities, including recruiting, selecting, and developing a talented workforce; processing paperwork; conducting interviews; and offering employment in accordance with Louisiana Civil Service Rules.
Performs any other duties as assigned in support of the mission of OMF and DCFS, including responsibilities tied to the agency's strategic commitments, initiatives, audit implementation requirements, and system transformation efforts as directed by executive leadership.
