About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, administrative oversight, and daily supervision of the Child Welfare Clinical Team, which includes two Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists (LCAS), two Registered Nurses (RNs), and one part-time Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health and substance use services to children, youth, and families involved with the child welfare system. The Clinical Supervisor promotes effective service delivery, regulatory compliance, staff development, and collaboration with internal and external partners to support positive outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Three years of job-related experience
Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Ability to supervise, coach, and mentor clinical professionals
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives
Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Fully licensed in North Carolina as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
Preference will be given to candidates who hold both LCAS and LCSW or LCMHC licensure
Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience
Previous supervisory or program management experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, child welfare, or integrated healthcare settings
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families involved in the child welfare system
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, behavioral health treatment, and applicable state and federal regulations
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
Knowledge of child welfare systems, behavioral health services, and substance use treatment

Responsibilities

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Child Welfare Clinical Team by providing clinical and administrative supervision, monitoring staff performance and caseloads
Conducts regular supervision meetings, and offers guidance on complex clinical cases
Ensures that services are delivered in accordance with evidence-based practices, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations while maintaining high standards for documentation, quality assurance, and ethical practice
Develops and supports staff through coaching, training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Works closely with Child Welfare Services, healthcare providers, behavioral health agencies, and community partners to coordinate care, participate in multidisciplinary case consultations, and strengthen service delivery for children and families.
Monitors program performance, identifies opportunities for quality improvement, assists with audits and reporting requirements, and supports the development and implementation of program goals, policies, and procedures.
Approves staff schedules and leave, monitors program resources, maintains accurate program data, and performs other duties as assigned.
Participates in the division's rotating after-hours placement coverage schedule to provide consultation and support for child welfare placement needs outside of regular business hours.
