About The Position

Professional Services Group is now hiring for the Child Welfare Case Reviewer. Here at PSG, we are a mental health and social services organization dedicated to supporting the communities we serve. The Child Welfare Case Reviewer is responsible for conducting reviews of child welfare cases using standardized review instruments that measure Wisconsin state and federal child welfare standards. Reviews of Ongoing child protective services cases are the primary focus in this role. Other Continuous Quality Improvement projects are assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience in Child Welfare.
  • Must have experience using eWiSACWIS.
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Knowledge of case practice in the following areas of child welfare: Access, Initial Assessment, Ongoing Case Management and Adoption.
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Child Welfare laws (i.e. Chapter 48, HFS Chapters 37-59), regulations, administrative codes and the Standards (i.e. Access and Initial Assessment Standards, Safety Intervention Standards and Ongoing Services Standards).
  • Knowledge of social work theory, principles and practices in the field of child welfare, including interviewing, confidentiality and cultural competency.
  • High level of ability to use Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel applications.
  • Proficient level of skill in using eWiSACWIS.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services.
  • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
  • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct case reviews (remotely and onsite) using standardized review instruments. This includes preparation, fieldwork, report generation, and follow-up activities.
  • Participate in weekly review team meetings for the purpose of information sharing and providing review updates.
  • Complete all required training and modules (i.e. Reviewer training, applicable safety or case practice-related trainings).
  • Position must keep current on issues related to evaluation, analytical skills and child welfare through seminars, trainings, media, text and research.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively State and County CPS staff in the areas of Access, Initial Assessment, and Ongoing Services.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Interpret procedures, policies, and standards affecting children and family programs, particularly in child welfare programs.
  • Prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
  • Work independently, self-motivate, and effectively manage time.
