About The Position

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. As a Case Manager, you will provide dependency case management services to families whom have verified abuse history and an open dependency case. This consists of providing services/linkage/coordination care of high need youth in out of home care and engaging kin and fictive kin adults to increase protective capacities and ultimately provide a stable safe home for the youth served.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience equivalent to one (1) year of full-time professional work providing child welfare services including, but not limited to, one or a combination of the following: social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management; volunteer services coordination for a children's service program; and/or juvenile classification coordination.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must pass a drug screen and all required background checks including but not limited to fingerprinting

Responsibilities

• Managing crisis
• Linking youth/caregivers to service providers

• Testifying in court
• Completing face to face engagement with youth/family in the community
