This role involves assigning and coordinating Child Welfare Assistants, responding to immediate needs requiring physical support, and providing direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff. The position requires demonstrating professional, positive behavior and carrying out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear, comprehensible manner.
  • Good organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and IL CANTS required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of child development and parent or equivalent life experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and coordinate Child Welfare Assistants and written requests by Child Welfare Supervisors and Child Welfare Specialists.
  • Respond to and coordinate response to immediate needs that required physical support of caregivers, foster parents, foster children.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Ensure job duties of the team and direct reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the hiring process of New Child Welfare Assistants.
  • Meet weekly in supervision with each Child Welfare Assistant.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
