Child Watch Attendant
About The Position
The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Child Watch Attendant to create a safe, engaging, and fun environment for young visitors. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring the Kid Zone child watch areas at the Recreation Center and providing short-term child watch services. Under the supervision of the Recreation Center Customer Service Supervisor, the Child Watch Attendant ensures the safety, well-being, and enrichment of children while in the care of Kid Zone staff. This role includes supervising children, implementing age-appropriate activities, and enforcing child watch policies.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old at the time of employment.
- Previous experience working with children professionally or through volunteer work.
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, and sports.
- Enforce all child watch policies, rules, and facility guidelines.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment in the Kid Zone area.
- Follow and enforce behavior management policies when necessary.
- Complete required paperwork for child sign-in/sign-out, accidents, and incidents.
- Assist with front desk operations, facility rentals, and special events as needed.
