About The Position

The Kroc Center is looking for a Child Watch Attendant to provide safe, nurturing, and engaging care for children while their parents or guardians participate in Kroc programs and events. This role involves creating a positive, energetic environment for kids and developing activities that entertain, teach, and inspire. Flexibility is important for this role, with primary shifts scheduled Monday–Thursday from 3:00–8:00 PM, Fridays from 3:00–7:00 PM, and every other Saturday from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. This position works up to 18 hours per week and pays $15.96 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for all shifts worked from 4:00 PM Friday through Sunday.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
1 year of relevant work experience with children.
First Aid, CPR and AED Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.
Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner while being responsive and detail-oriented.
Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
Exercise good judgment in personal actions.
Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Patiently supervise multiple children.
Communicate effectively with children and parents / guardians.

Assist in the cleaning of toys and other materials used in the Fun Depot.
Maintain a safe environment for staff and participants.
