About The Position

This vacancy is located in the East Baton Rouge Child Support Enforcement Office in Baton Rouge, LA. This position is responsible for the administration of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program within the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The goal of CSE is to ensure that parents fulfill their obligation to provide financial and medical support for their child/children.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in child support enforcement; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A master’s degree plus one year of experience in child support enforcement.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Processing applications and cases while maintaining a caseload of the highest complexity.
  • Interpreting and applying CSE policy and federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Providing technical assistance in CSE program policies and procedures.
  • Conducting formal case reviews to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Training, developing, mentoring, and evaluating analysts and support staff.
  • Serving as a backup to the supervisor and performing functional supervisory duties such as training, organizing unit meetings, and providing input to the supervisor.
  • Working closely with judges, court personnel, district attorneys, and sheriffs to provide services to families.
  • Functioning as the agency leader in court.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
