About The Position

This career opportunity is with the Utah Office of Recovery Services (ORS), a division within the Department of Health and Human Services. The ORS mission is to promote responsibility by providing child support services and support for children in care to help ensure parents are financially responsible for their children. The Bureau of Medical Collections also works to ensure public funds are used appropriately. The role offers a positive work-life balance with a Monday through Friday (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) work schedule and excellent benefits. The position is located at 33 N 100 W, Suite 100 Saint George, UT 84770. A background check is required, but a drug test is not. This position is in the Competitive Service and requires a 12-month probationary period.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in a technology-driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and quickly make decisions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with an ability to assist people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism, without prejudice or bias.
  • Ability to effectively contact individuals or organizations to secure delinquent payments, and/or arrange payment plans for money owed.
  • Effectively interpret, clarify, explain and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Helping the Utah Office of Recovery Services (ORS) in their mission to promote responsibility, by providing child support services and support for children in care to help ensure parents are financially responsible for their children.
  • Assisting with ensuring public funds are used appropriately through the efforts of our Bureau of Medical Collections.
  • Contacting individuals or organizations to secure delinquent payments, and/or arrange payment plans for money owed.
  • Interpreting, clarifying, explaining and applying agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws, and regulations.
