About The Position

The Psychiatrist position delivers psychiatric healthcare services to individuals in the inpatient and outpatient facilities and to determine the most appropriate level of care required. This position is responsible for the psychiatric evaluation, treatment, emergency intervention and psychopharmacological treatment of clients of LifeStream Behavioral Center.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a residency in Psychiatry.
  • Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Child Psychiatrist post-fellowship.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with children and adolescents in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and psychopathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest research and practices in child psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations on all clients admitted to the inpatient services, residential, and outpatient services.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medication for clients in inpatient, residential and outpatient services.
  • Provide emergency psychiatric consultations for the inpatient services, residential programs and outpatient services. The outpatient and residential evaluations will be referred to the hospital if needed.
  • Arrange for medical, dental and ophthalmological and pain management consultations if needed by clients in the inpatient services, residential and outpatient services.
  • Make all appropriate chart and record notations according to CARF, DCF, Hospital Licensure, Medicare and all other pertinent standards.
