About The Position

Under direction provides professional social services to a variety of children, adult and family clients. Provide ongoing case management services. Perform intake responsibilities on a rotating basis. Required to participate in an informal on-call system. Typical schedule is 37.5 hours/week; however additional hours may be required but varies per workload demands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field, OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must complete Foundations Training.
  • Must attend continuing education courses as appropriate.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet competency required.
  • Willingness to learn additional software as needed for the position is required.

  • Ability to communicate with the public, vulnerable adults, disabled children, other county employees, law enforcement and school personnel, medical and mental health professionals, attorneys, court and various other service providers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and implement appropriate responses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
