About The Position

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Specialist for radiology. This role provides the scope of child life services to children and families who are receiving services from St. Louis Children's Hospital. The hospital is dedicated to improving the health and lives of children and is a top-ranked children's hospital in the country, providing care in more than 50 specialty areas. It offers inpatient and outpatient medical care, as well as education, wellness, and injury-prevention programs. St. Louis Children's has been a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence since 2005.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Child Life/Education/Life Science
• Child Life Internship
• No Experience
• No Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family centered care.
• Provides child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and/or other potentially stressful events.
• Actively contributes to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department, planning activities, special projects, meetings and outcome measures.
• Increases awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation and in-service education.
