About The Position

The Child Life Specialist II demonstrates knowledge of Child Life assessments and interventions appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients and families served. Actively collaborates with multidisciplinary team to advocate for patient and family needs. Demonstrates a commitment to family-centered care.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience as a Child Life Specialist
• Must have completed a 600-hour child life clinical internship under a certified child life specialist by December 10, 2021

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish speaking highly preferred
• Previous experience with childcare or other related fields
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children and their parents
• Positive and patient demeanor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner
• Implement creative activities to assist with child development
• Create a positive and nurturing environment for children
• Perform a variety of tasks, such as dressing, feeding, bathing, and overseeing play
